Daisy Parent Birth and Baby Care Preparation

/ Kayleigh Burton / Daisy Parent Birth and Baby Care Preparation

Class Description

Daisy Parent is a 14.5-hour antenatal course designed for expectant parents and is split between birth preparation and practical baby care.

The classes cover a combination of:

-Antenatal and active birth education
-Movement, relaxation and birth hypnosis
-Parenting choices
-Practical baby care and safety
-Baby calming techniques
-Comprehensive breastfeeding preparation

Our entirely comprehensive Daisy Parent format draws on elements of active birth, hypnobirthing, parentcraft and traditional antenatal classes to create one very powerful combination. From birth plans to massage in labour, informed choice to packing hospital bags and feeding your baby to changing their nappy – we’ve got you covered.

The classes allow you to feel prepared not only for birth, but for the arrival and care of baby too.

Your first 3 Daisy Parent classes will focus on labour and birth preparation. We will cover stages of labour, active birth education, assisted birth (i.e. caesarean section, forceps, ventouse, etc), breathing techniques, pain relief, and massage techniques.

The next 3 classes will focus on baby care, including winding, holding, crying, calming, dressing, bathing, changing, sleeping, safety, postnatal support and fourth trimester care. You will also have the opportunity to learn about more in-depth subjects such as vitamin K, delayed cord clamping and the benefits of skin-to-skin with baby.

Your final class will focus on breastfeeding, including benefits of breastfeeding, the first hour, anatomy and physiology, hunger cues, positioning and attachment, the first 10 days, expressing milk and challenges

These classes are suitable for all birth plans and parenting choices, whether this is your first baby or not.
