Class Description
Our Active Birth Workshop is a relaxed antenatal class where each couple gains knowledge and understanding of the labour journey, and how they are able to use gravity, movement and each other to prepare for birth.
The workshop covers: antenatal and active birth education; hormones in pregnancy and birth; understanding labour and birth; benefits of movements, while understanding the need for rest; birth partner supporting methods; breathing techniques.
Term duration and timings
Our Active Birth Workshop runs over 2 sessions. Each session lasts 2 hours (7:30pm – 9:30pm) on a Monday.

Old Girls’ School Community Centre, 18 Kirkgate, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Leeds LS25 6BL

Sherburn-in-Elmet is an easily accessible location, close to the A1 between Leeds and Selby. You can reach us in less than 30 minutes from across Leeds, Wakefield and York! The venue has plenty of free parking.
Who should attend
Our Active Birth Workshop is designed for couples (or mum-to-be with their birthing partner) who want to understand active birthing techniques and how a birth partner can support a mum during labour.
The workshop is an ideal for ladies who have already attended Daisy Birthing sessions (an opportunity to introduce their partner to the active birthing techniques). But the workshop is also suitable for couples who have no prior knowledge of active birthing techniques.

Cost
An Active Birth Workshop costs £75 per couple.
