Antenatal Classes

Antenatal classes are an excellent way of better preparing yourself for the birth of your baby as well as helping you to keep active and healthy during your pregnancy. They allow expectant parents to access different advice and information from trained professionals, as well as making friends with other parents to be. Classes are usually informal, and provide a positive and fun atmosphere for parents to ask questions, meet people and learn different techniques and methods that will ultimately make pregnancy and the arrival of the baby easier and less stressful.

During our classes you will learn about a multitude of different topics such as:

  • What you should and shouldn't eat during pregnancy
  • Different plans for when you go into labour and the labour journey
  • Preparing your body and mind for birth
  • Active birth techniques
  • Optimum fetal position
  • Caring for, calming and feeding your newborn baby
  • Your own post-birth health
  • Coping with the different emotions throughout pregnancy and childbirth

Our Antenatal Classes aren't limited to just these issues though, and you'll have the opportunity to learn about anything else that comes to mind. We welcome your questions and are happy to help you on all matters relating to your journey into motherhood.

Why attend our Antenatal Classes?

Knowledge is power, as they say, and gaining a deeper understanding of what to expect and how to handle certain parenting situations and obstacles will help to increase your parenting confidence and competence.

We believe that exploring and learning about key topics with your birth partner is one of the most important things you can do as a new parent to help prepare for the arrival of your new baby. When this is combined with preparing your own mind and body using movement, breath, muscle memory and hypnotic techniques – it is the complete mind, body and practical preparation system.

Preparation is key during pregnancy and if you are informed and educated you will be better able to prepare for this arrival. Knowing things like what to buy, how to set up your new baby's room will allow you to have everything at home ready for the special new arrival.

Breathing and Relaxation Techniques

We have two strategies in our antenatal offering, each can be chosen individually or combined. Our Daisy Birthing program is our weekly class for women only. This is our all-inclusive Active Antenatal Method, a ground breaking, effective and all encompassing pregnancy class helping you to learn your antenatal education in a truly effective way – anchored to your breath, your body and your movement – exactly where you will need it on your baby’s birthing day. Our Daisy Parent program is our all-inclusive birth preparation and baby-care workshop for expectant parents. This workshop combines antenatal and active birth education with the use of movement, breath work, relaxation and birth hypnosis. Practical baby care demonstrations are delivered alongside un-biased education on parenting choices, safety and baby calming techniques.

Movement, breathing and relaxation exercises are some of the most important things you'll learn during our Antenatal Classes, as they help to give you the most comfortable childbirth experience possible, making the process quicker and smoother.

Meeting other Daisy Parents

One great advantage of our Parent workshops is that soon-to-be parents can meet and bond with one another. Our weekly mum only classes are excellent at creating a powerful support network with other new mums in your own local areas, as you really bond over the weeks attending classes.

Just knowing that you aren't the only one going through a stressful time or having certain problems is such a relief and helps to ease any stresses or nerves associated with bringing a new baby into the world. Going through the journey of pre-parenthood together also means that parents often remain friends well after they have their babies, and can even enjoy the continuity of care from their Daisy teacher as they attend tinies and wrigglers classes together.
